Beauty + “There are three types of skin – the Oily skin, Normal skin and Dry skin. To know your skin type perform this test, place a dry tissue on your face and press it against your face when you get up early in the morning. If the tissue is stained, you have an oily skin, if there is a T-shaped stain in the centre panel then yours is a combination skin. And if there is no oily patch, you have a dry skin.” © Beauty + Previous Home Next www.b-vk.blogspot.com

Your Solution 03

Beauty + “Remember the key words for skins – Cleaning, Nourishing and Toning. The skin needs to be cleansed twice daily, in the morning and before going to bed. For nourishment, any cream can be used and for toning you can use an astringent or skin tonic. Don`t forget to use a moisturiser during the dry to retain the moisture of the skin.” © Beauty + Previous Home Next www.b-vk.blogspot.com

Your Solution 04

Beauty + “A dry skin is flaky and dull in appearance, especially around the eyes and the cheeks. Fine lines appear very soon when the skin is dry. It also has a tendency towards, flakiness, dry patches and sore skin in cold weather. A dry skin needs a lot of care. The oil glands of a dry skin do not supply enough lubricants to the skin so the skin becomes dehydrated. For a dry skin, it is imperative that you use a lot of nourishment and moisturise it adequately. It is best not to use too much of soap on the face as that will compound the problem. At night, use a rich-nourishing cream before retiring to bed. And keep skin scrupulously clean with a mild cleaning cream or lotion.” © Beauty + Previous Home Next www.b-vk.blogspot.com

Your Solution 05

Beauty + “An oily skin looks shiny, thick and dull. The sebaceous glands of an oily skin produce more oil than required. The pores are enlarged and the oily skin is more prone to problems like acne and blackheads. One needs to keep it very clean so that excess oil is not formed. Use a mild toner for toning. Toning will improve the circulation and the texture of the skin. Keep away from greasy creams and moisturizers . There many specially formulated lotions and non-greasy moisturizers , available for the oily skin.” © Beauty + Previous Home Next www.b-vk.blogspot.com

Your Solution 06

Beauty + “The degree of acidity of your skin is known as the pH factor. To determine pH is to ascertain the hydrogen potentials. The hydrogen particle, when in excess, causes alkalinity. When the hydrogen particle is deficient, it causes acidity. The pH factor is neutral when at 7. When the figure is under 7 then it is acidic and when it is above 7 it is alkaline. To find out whether your skin is acidic or alkaline, take a litmus paper and apply it to the face (an hour after it has been washed). Keep it there for a few minutes and then remove it. If the paper has remained blue, you lack acidity and your skin is a breeding ground for infection. If the paper has turned to a rose-lilac, the acidity level is satisfactory. If the paper has become pink-red, your skin is too acidic and it is delicate, sensitive as well as likely to age prematurely.” © Beauty + Previous Home Next www.b-vk.blogspot.co

Your Solution 07

Beauty + “Cleansing is a very vital part of beauty and skin care. We are living in a much polluted environment, today. The dust, grime and impurities in the atmosphere play havoc with the skin. It is therefore, extremely important to clean the skin, every night. An oily skin requires more cleaning than a dry skin because the open pores on the oily skin become clogged with dirt and oil. If you do not want to use the branded products available in the market, do the cleansing with home-based products. Take 2 teaspoons of cold milk, apply it on the face and wipe away with a moist cotton wool. For oily skin, add a little water to the milk. Follow it up with a toner.” © Beauty + Previous Home Next www.b-vk.blogspot.com

Your Solution 08

Beauty + “All types of skins need a freshener or a toner. Toners come in alcoholic and non-alcoholic forms. The alcoholic ones are meant for the oily skins whereas the non-alcoholics are good for the dry skin. Toning helps to clear away all residues that have been left by a cleanser. It also tones up the facial muscles besides stimulating blood circulation. It restores the pH balance, which might have got disturbed during the process of cleansing. The best way to tone the skin is to splash a lot of cold water on the face, this helps in closing the pores, which might have opened up during the process of cleansing. After that one can apply a toner suitable to the skin type.” © Beauty + Previous Home Next www.b-vk.blogspot.com

Your Solution 09

Beauty + “The moisturizer  functions as a shield on the skin. It forms a film over the skin`s surface, holding in the natural moisture and providing a base for the make-up. The make-up stays for a longer time if a good moisturizer  has been applied as a base. A moisturizer  forms a barrier between the skin and the environment. Most people think that there is no need for moisturizing  an oily skin. This is a wrong concept. All kinds of skin require moisturizing . An oil free or light moisturizer  is needed for the oily skin whereas a rich, oil-based one is a must for the dry skin. One must, however, remember to remove the moisturizer  at night.” © Beauty + Previous Home Next www.b-vk.blogspot.com

Beauty + “The right way of taking out moisturising cream from its container is to use a spatula. Although you feel your fingers are clean, they are capable of transferring bacteria to the container.” © Beauty + Previous Home Next www.b-vk.blogspot.com

Your Solution 11

Beauty + “The black spots are scars that are left behind by the pimples after they have dried. To lighten them, use choker, mixed with rosewater, raw turmeric and milk. Apply it on the face and neck region and scrub it off till the flakes fall off the face, using circular movements of the fingers. The small holes on your skin are the open, enlarged pores. Splash ice cold water on your face three times a day. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Avoid fried foods, sweets and aerated foods.” © Beauty + Previous Home Next www.b-vk.blogspot.com

Your Solution 12

Beauty + “Freckles are generally a genetic problem. They are skin`s protection against the exposure to sun. Melalite cream, with hydroquinone as an ingredient, helps dissolve the melanin pigment. Since this pigment appears from the basal layer of the skin, more and more of melanin cells will keep appearing in the form of freckles. There is no permanent cure but you can take precautions so that there is no darkening effect. To do so, avoid being exposed to sunlight by carrying an umbrella or wearing a sun-hat. Also use a sunscreen with a high SPF (Sun Protecting Factor) of above 30” © Beauty + Previous Home Next www.b-vk.blogspot.com
